In November 2021, GS LIGHT supplied a commercial lighting solution for a supermarket project in Pakistan. The project required consistent illumination across a large retail floor, including aisles, product shelving and service areas.
GS-TPE1500-40W LED Tri Proof Lights were selected for the main lighting system because their 1.5m linear format and linkable design allowed the fixtures to be installed in continuous rows. A total of 650 fixtures were supplied, with the completed installation achieving up to 750 lux on the supermarket floor.

The supermarket required reliable, high-output lighting across a large retail floor, with sufficient illumination for product displays, clear visibility along aisles and consistent light levels throughout the space.
The supermarket required long, continuous lighting runs across the sales floor. Instead of using individual fixtures with frequent gaps, GS LIGHT supplied 1.5m linkable Tri Proof Lights that could be connected into continuous rows.
This layout helped maintain a consistent lighting pattern along aisles while simplifying fixture positioning across the large ceiling area.

Supermarket aisles, shelves & service areas
The GS-TPE1500-40W was selected as the main lighting fixture for this supermarket project. Its 1.5m linear body and linkable design are suitable for large commercial areas where continuous rows of lighting are required.
The project photos and video show the LED Tri Proof Lights installed during the supermarket's interior finishing stage. The fixtures were arranged in continuous linear rows across the ceiling, creating a clean and consistent lighting layout throughout the sales floor.

The installed lighting system achieved illumination levels of up to 750 lux across the supermarket floor. This provided the brightness required for the commercial space, while the linear fixture arrangement maintained a consistent overall lighting appearance.
Large-Quantity Production

Planning supermarket lighting involves balancing visibility, energy efficiency, visual comfort and installation requirements. Here are practical answers to some of the questions project owners, contractors and lighting designers commonly consider.
Linear LED lighting, LED panel lights, high bays and tri proof lights can all be used depending on ceiling height, aisle layout, required illuminance and environmental conditions.
Glare can make products, signs and aisles uncomfortable to view, particularly when customers or staff are looking upward or working under the fixtures for long periods. Choosing suitable optics, diffuser designs, mounting positions and fixture spacing can help control glare while maintaining the required illuminance.
The required illuminance depends on the area and activity, such as sales floors, aisles, checkout areas, storage rooms and service areas. A lighting layout should be developed based on the actual floor plan and project requirements.
Good product visibility depends on more than brightness. Light distribution, color rendering, beam angle and the position of the fixtures all affect how products appear on shelves. A suitable lighting design should provide enough light on both the floor and merchandise without creating excessive shadows or reflections.
Energy efficiency should be evaluated at the system level rather than by fixture wattage alone. High-efficacy LED fixtures, appropriate lighting levels, optimized fixture spacing and lighting controls can help reduce unnecessary energy consumption while maintaining the required illumination.
Different areas may have different lighting priorities. Sales aisles generally focus on product visibility, checkout areas require clear visual conditions, storage areas prioritize functional illumination, while promotional or display zones may need more focused lighting.
Fixture spacing depends on factors such as mounting height, optical distribution, fixture output, target illuminance and the layout of aisles and shelving. Increasing spacing is not always more efficient if it creates uneven illumination, so spacing should be verified through lighting calculations.
